United Way of Portage County wants to keep you up-to-date. United Way hosts various special events through the year that keep community members energized and educated about how we are working in our county. When volunteers from local schools, corporations and business come together to spread the good news about what United Way is doing, a good time is had by all.

 Kent Social Services volunteers serve hot meals to families and individuals to help them meet their basic nutrition needs. The center also offers food pantry assistance to people in need in Portage County. In 2004, Kent Social Service staff and volunteers supplied over 31,000 hungry individuals with food.
