What is a
Pacesetter?
A United Way
Pacesetter “sets the pace” for the campaign by running a
campaign previous to the official United Way Community Campaign
Kick-off, typically held at the end of August. Pacesetter
companies typically run condensed, high energy campaigns that
focus on having fun while supporting a wonderful cause, United
Way.
Why should my
company become a Pacesetter?
-
Typically, United
Way Pacesetters enjoy the benefits of being in the “spotlight”
along with a number of other local business and organizations.
Pacesetters are frequently highlighted in local media outlets
including newspaper and radio.
-
Pacesetters run an
early campaign, which means that the timeframe can sometimes be
a better fit for businesses that are especially busy and active
during the official campaign months.
- United Way of
Portage County Pacesetters are viewed as community leaders.
- Pacesetters are
invited to join our annual Pacesetter Kick-off Breakfast which
celebrates company and business enthusiasm and support of United
Way.
What is expected
of a United Way Pacesetter organization?
Pacesetters make a
commitment to run company campaigns between June 30 and August
31, 2006. We encourage companies to blast off their campaigns
earlier, if they so choose.
Pacesetter totals
must be submitted to United Way of Portage County by the end of August,2006.
